Michelle Obama Dipping Dish

What a unique and beautiful hand-made dish by artist Lorraine Oerth!

 

Made from ceramics with a picture of our current First Lady, wife of our first African American president, Barack Obama, imprinted with unusual and pretty designs on both sides (see the second picture, above), and painted in turquoise, this Michelle Obama Dipping Dish can be used for storing keys, change, sweets, or any other small keepsake! Dipping dishes are safe to use for food, as well! The Michelle Obama image is fired into the glaze as an overglaze enamel pigment, making it permanent.

 

Artist Lorraine Oerth is constantly drawing, painting, and designing. She developed the method of transferring her drawings and designs into iron oxide that is fired onto the glazes, resulting in a dark brown picture that is part of the glaze surface, creating a rich, artistic look.
